Skills
Skills extend what your assistant can do. Toggle built-in skills from the dashboard or create your own custom skills with prompts, tool definitions, and MCP servers.
Built-in skills
These are pre-configured skills that ship with Cleo. Toggle them on or off from the Skills section of your dashboard.
Web Search
Search the web in real time. Powered by Brave Search. Requires a Brave API key or platform credits.
Cron Manager
Create, edit, and delete scheduled tasks through chat. Always enabled.
Config Manager
Modify persona, response style, and other settings through conversation. Always enabled.
Channel Manager
Pair and disconnect channels through chat commands. Always enabled.
Custom skills
Create your own skills from the Custom Skills section of the dashboard. Each custom skill can include:
- •Skill prompt — instructions that tell your assistant how to use the skill
- •Tool definitions — custom tools (HTTP endpoints) the assistant can call
- •MCP server URL — connect to an external Model Context Protocol server for dynamic tools
- •Secrets — encrypted key-value pairs injected into tool calls (API tokens, etc.)
Custom skills are deployed to your agent container automatically. Toggle them on or off at any time without losing your configuration.
Managing skills
Skills can be managed from the dashboard or through chat. The Skills section shows two groups: Installed (currently active) and Available (ready to enable).
Click a skill tile to see its description, toggle it on/off, or configure it. Changes take effect on the next message — no restart needed.
All tiers include unlimited built-in and custom skills. There is no skill count limit.
